Hi there! I reckon some of you folks know me by now, if not - I used to publish stuff at Crossfire earlier on. Apart from that I've been writing about gaming and eSport on several sites ever since 2002 and perhaps the most known ones for you guys would be CallOfDuty.se, a site I founded back in 2003 and owned until some years ago when I decided to go elsewhere. However, I'm not posting here to talk (just?) about myself.
Recently I started working on a new project, a project that would combine my two main interests, eSport and journalism. After reading awhole lot about Brink I eventually decided that this would be the game to start with, seeing it's potential and facing the challenge with a brand new public.
So, I now present to you doffelicious.com. doffelicious.com will work as a Brink-fansite for the Scandinavians, meaning (obviously)
Sweden,
Norway &
Denmark. Most of it's content will be in swedish but in time there will also be stuff in both norwegian and danish (I reckon we all understand each of our languages anyway). The thought is that once the game have been release all three countries will be under some heavy coverage. Obviously it will also have coverage of the scene as whole but the focus will be on the europeean top and the three scandinavian countries. People from
Finland you are more then welcome to join up aswell, just don't expect there to be much posted in finnish. However, there is a "Brink Suomi"-forum aswell so please, join up.So, if you're scandinavian and, just like me, interested in Brink I can gladly recommend doffelicious.com. doffelicious.com will post every little newsitem I can find upon release, and once released it will be more focused on the Brink eSport-part.
There is also a forum where you can register (just follow the links on the site) and also a newly opened IRC-channel where you hang out, #brink.se @ QNet (not that overpopulated yet though for obvious reasons..). Feel welcome!
The page is brand new (well, since the 21st) so it's far from done. And I'm guessing there is some questions. You're free to either comment here and ask, or on the doffelicious.com forums or send me an e-mail, dohfos[at]doffelicious[dot]com
But the FAQ so far would probably be something like:
Q: Why go Scandinavian and not English (or just Swedish since you're after all swede)?
A: Simple, I've done everything but Scandinavian before. I'll still write about Brink on f.e. Crossfire (or such) in English. And about the "just Swedish-part", well. It's more of a challenge to reach the Scandinavian community as it's broader then just the Swedish. I've always liked the idea with a Scandinavian community.
Q: Why the domain doffelicious.com and not brinkscandinavia.com or similiar?
A: Because this is a longterm project that will, in time, be much more then just Brink. That's in the future though. But if you come to think of it - the page you're currently on is mainly about W:ET and it's name isn't enemyterritory.eu (or such).
Q: Why on earth did you pick Brink? It's not even released!!
A: I feel it will be great fun wandering into a completely new scene, just like i did when i once started CallOfDuty.se (which I did just as long before the CoD-release as we are from the Brink-release now). Also, during my ET:QW-period i come to talk with some guys from the Splash Damage office, and they surely are a nice bunch of people to work with so I look forward doing that again.
Welcome to doffelicious.com - Brink Sweden, Brink Norway and Brink Denmark - under the same domain!
Big thanks to krollspell for letting me post this here. And as a sidenote, no - Finland ain't Scandinavia. It's a common misstake people seem to do. Finland are, together with Sweden, Denmark, Norway & Iceland a part of the Nordic Countries, which is awhole different story.
